WRAL Real Estate Documentary “Home Economics”

March 19, 2021 • News

Raleigh’s real estate market has gained national attention in the past year for good reason. We have been voted as the #1 real estate market in several different categories by several different organizations.

The Raleigh-Durham Triangle region has a high number of new residents moving to it every single day for its quality of life, affordable real estate, and the unique offerings we have in like food, min-metro nightlife, entertainment and natural areas aplenty.

A spotlight was shining brightly on downtown Raleigh and its real estate market. In 2019, the New York Times even published an article on gentrification in some of Raleigh’s downtown neighborhoods. Then, WRAL decided to take an in-depth look at how an influx of expensive new construction projects was affecting downtown residents.

Their documentary, Home Economics, hosted by Gerald Owens, does an incredible job using resources like Mike Poupard of Grayson Homes, Marshall Rich of Rich Realty Group, and even Raleigh, NC Mayor Mary Ann Baldwin, to demonstrate how and why this trend started, where it’s going, and what we can do to keep its impact on our community positive.

Home Economics aired on March 17, 2021 and we were so proud to have been featured as the real estate resource, explaining the state of new construction in Raleigh, and how we can help create positive change in housing through rezoning efforts to increase density and lower prices in parts of town where rising prices have negatively impacted its residents.

We encourage you watch this great documentary, and to reach out to us with any questions you may have about new construction, rezoning, affordable housing or any way we can make it a great day to buy real estate!
